Mandala Art

Mandala
According to the Wikipedia, mandala (Sanskrit: मण्डल, maṇḍala; literally "circle") is a spiritual symbol, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
Mandalas often exhibit radial balance.
The term appears in the Rigveda as the name of the sections of the work, and Vedic rituals use Mandalas such as the Navagraha mandala to this day. Mandalas are also used in Buddhism.

Mandala art session was planned for the students to become more observant. This helps them become mindful about the patterns in Nature and slows down the pace of routine life, even if it is for few minutes. We earnestly hope students can practice these when they are free, when they go outdoors.

Few students have shown great interest as exhibited in their works :

Art and Nature

Children love outdoor activities. This activity helped children understand that simple, natural objects can be used for artwork.Different painting styles practiced hundreds of years ago used only natural colours. Be2 Aware members explored the Warli art in one of the sessions.

Art with Nature

Does the title intrigue you?But that's exactly what the club members did.Students picked up natural objects from the ground and created beautiful pieces of art! This activity fosters team work and kindles imagination.Art using found objects make children realize that they can pick up objects, make something good and it need not be permanent. The best part is when they throw away this 'art' piece ,it is going back to earth and will be taken care of Nature. Why then do we need to use thermocol, sun boards during exhibitions? Can we think of our displays differently?

Here are few photos of the work done by class 7 A students :
