Art with Nature
Does the title intrigue you?But that's exactly what the club members did.Students picked up natural objects from the ground and created beautiful pieces of art! This activity fosters team work and kindles imagination.Art using found objects make children realize that they can pick up objects, make something good and it need not be permanent. The best part is when they throw away this 'art' piece ,it is going back to earth and will be taken care of Nature. Why then do we need to use thermocol, sun boards during exhibitions? Can we think of our displays differently?

Trip to an Organic Farm
On 12th August , a group of 35 students visited Chiguru farm. It is an organic farm located in the outskirts of Bangalore in Kanakpura Taluk.
Here, crops are grown without the usage of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. They practice vermicomposting and rain water harvesting. As a substitute for fertilizers they use the protein rich compost and manure from cow dung.
We were enlightened on various topics such as bees, pollination, species of trees etc.
The organic lunch served here tasted different from the one we have in restaurants. Before we left we planted a few saplings. The experience left me feeling a new sense of purpose and I decided to support organic farming. This was truly an experience we can never forget.

Story Telling Session
We love to listen to stories. What better way to connect to Nature than through stories? Ms.Vijita narrated a story of a tree that is a friend forever. Here's a journal entry by a student :
In the auditorium today, Vijita ma’am narrated her version of a popular story 'Giving Tree' to all the students of 7th grade. It spoke of a tree which felt pleased to help a man despite the pain he had to endure in order to do it. The tree never regretted helping his friend. The tree knew him since he was a young boy with black curly hair ,bright shiny eyes and dimples on his cheek. The story ends when the tree stump and the old man share each other's experience.
At all times when the man faced predicaments , he approached his old friend without expecting any reward, yet the tree always found a solution to the man's problem. The story depicted the beautiful relationship the man shared with the tree.
