Students were shown a video on "Furoshiki" - a Japanese technique of using fabric to wrap gifts.

 

Vedic Verses

Ashrith of class IX spoke to the club members about the importance given to the earth and how it was revered by our ancestors.He recited verses from Rig Veda,Yajur Veda and explained the significance of each verse.It was an interesting and informative session.

 

Forest Walk

Students were thrilled to walk through the shrub forest adjacent to the school.Madhusudhan showed the students spittle bug,harvester ants'nest,butterflies and explained the wonderful mechanisms of Nature.He showed bird rings that are manufactured and labelled only in Sweden and available only in Mumbai's Natural Society.The unique numbered rings are used to identify birds and tehir migration patterns.The ringed birds are tracked and all information is maintained in the database.
Overall,a very interesting session evident from the fact that students were reluctant to leave.

This week's session was conducted by Ms.Neha Utmani,High School Art teacher.It was an exciting,fun filled session for students as they learnt about an ancient form of art that depicts Nature and narrates the stories of simple folk beautifully.Thank you Neha Maám.
